TEXT: Daniel 1:1-4, Genesis 27:27-29, Psalm 127:3-4, Proverbs 3:4, Luke 2:52, Acts 24:16.

“Children in whom was no blemish, but well-favoured . . .” Daniel 1:4.
To be ‘well’ is to be wholesome and complete. When a child is well-favoured, it means the child is blessed by God and man: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” Luke 2:52. Children are the product of parental dream and vision. Well-favoured children are a parental legacy, they are the result of parental character and example. Parental wellness is fundamental to raising well-favoured children. If the parents are not well, they cannot produce well-favoured children. When parents fear God, the divine institution of the fear of the Lord is credited and transferred to the child.
“So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man” Proverbs 3:4
“Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine” Genesis 27:28.
As long as you are on earth, you need both heavenly and earthly blessings to succeed in this world; favours from God and man: the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth.
“And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and [toward] men” Acts 24:16. As believers, we should always keep and maintain a conscience void of offence toward God and men because our favours are both heavenly and earthly. Always keep your doors opened for heavenly and earthly favour.
“Children in whom was no blemish, but well-favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as [had] ability in them to stand in the king’s palace” Daniel 1:4.
Only by divine understanding and diligence can well-favoured children stand in the king’s palace.
