TEXT: John 5:35, 39, Luke 12:35, Acts 2:1-3, Job 29:1, Matthew 25:4, Luke 24:26-36

Testimony between us and God must be reciprocal: we have the testimony of God to us, and our testimony to Him. The salvation of souls is the only testimony we can present to God. He does not need your money; what God needs from you is the soul you save and bring to Him. Without this singular testimony, everything else is all a wasteful religion.
God does not send anyman into the world without putting fire of light, power, breakthrough, destiny in Him; but how you go about in the relationship with the God that sent you is another case altogether. There must be a relationship between the sender and the sent. The man who knows that he has been sent by God and given the fire of light to burn, must know that such fire is for fruitful service unto God. The fire must be sustained by constant and growing fellowship with God.
“. . . a burning and shining light” John 5:35. according to this Bible reference, the testimony of God was that John the baptist was a burning and shining light and people were willing to walk in that light in his days and season. Candle burns before it produces light. God’s candle, the Holy Spirit burned on the head of the disciples on the day of Pentecost: “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them” (Acts 2:3).
The Word is God and Lord. The Word is the Rock of Salvation (Psalm 18:2). The Word as a rock produces oil, the Word has been exhalted above His name. Any christian that believes in the Word of God, out of the rock of God’s Word in his belly shall flow rivers of living water and rivers of oil. Rivers of oil means varieties of oil for different purposes: health, prosperity, preservation, protection, mercy, breakthrough.
There is a height and depth, a believer can get to where the rock of God’s Word would produce beyond rivers of living water, to produce rivers of oil. A believer must have enough oil on his or her head in order to succeed in this world. Your head being a cup should contain and receive much oil. This oil is the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. The oil must fill and overflow your cup for it to be a blessing to others. “. . . thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over” Psalm 23:5. If our oil does not overflow to love and save new souls for God’s kingdom, then all our giving and labour will be in vain. What God demands of us is our testimony of new souls. Our good works should be capable of saving souls. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:16.
A lamp cannot burn without oil. A burning oil produces light; and the light must shine to produce great impact. As believers, our oil must burn. What’s the effect of burning to a believer’s oil? It awakens, quickens and sharpens the spirit and soul, it stirs up talents and potentials. Burning stirs up your gifts and talents for service. When the church is cold, it means no burning oil. Your burning oil and fire of light must bring about repentance of unbelievers; their hearts must be convicted, their hearts must burn unto repentance (Luke 24:32).
What does a shining light do? If your oil is a burning and shining light, it draws people from darkness to the light, shows people the way to go. A shining light is a perfect role model for people to follow, it converts souls to Christ. When a believer’s oil is burning, and becomes a fire of shining light, the believer is willing for service and shall eat the good of the land.
