MESSAGE TITLE: THE MARRIAGE MYSTERY

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 15:58, Jude 1:3, Matthew 19:3-6, Ephesians 5:21-29, Hebrew 13:4, Genesis 12:1-3, 2 Corinthians 5:17
“. . . for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife . . .” Matthew 19:5.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” 1 Corinthians 15:58.
When a man and a woman go into marriage, they are drawn together by love; they make vows and take oaths of commitment to each other. But when the wind of trials blows in the marriage, the husband and wife must be steadfast and unmovable to receive the joy of marriage. Marriage is about the work of the Lord. The husband and wife must always abound in it because God does not want drifting in marriage; He demands steadfastness.
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word” Ephesians 5:22-26.
Godly marriages are without challenges and troubles. A husband and wife should sanctify and cleanse their marriage with the washing of the water by the word. The word of God impacts wisdom and marital understanding which can remove the faults and weaknesses in a marriage. In a Godly relationship, you must be able to acknowledge your faults; it is strength and not weakness to accept a fault.
“Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled . . .” Hebrews 13:4. As believers, our heavenly and first marriage is with Christ Jesus; we learn the fear of God in our union with Christ Jesus, as Christ is the head of the church. Our earthly and second marriage is to a man or woman, with whom we make vows and take oaths of commitment to each other. Since the husband and wife are responsible for the outcomes of their marriage, they must work out their salvation in marriage with the fear of God, which is the key to a fulfilled marriage and the golden rule of integrity in marriage.
