MESSAGE: FAMILY LEGACIES IN GRACE WORKMANSHIP
BY: BISHOP DR. S.I OKELEZOH
TEXT: Romans 14:18, Acts 10:38, Acts 24:16, Ephesians 6:1-4, Luke 2:40-52, Matthew 21:33, Mark 6:3, Matthew 13:54-55
There are five family legacy in grace workmanship which you must lay down for an inheritance. Where there is legacy, there is inheritance. Those who lay family legacies are fathers and mothers and those who inherit legacies are the children. Do we have the capacity as parents to lay down legacies for our children to inherit? Do we even know the crucial fundamental legacies that God wants our family to lay?
FIVE CRUCIAL LEGACIES WE CHRISTIANS MUST LAY DOWN ARE
⦁ Spirit and true character for living. You cannot get the true living character without being close to God. You are laying the life of God for success, breakthrough, and victory for your children to inherit
⦁ Business legacy
⦁ Fear of God and man. “For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.” Romans 14:18 “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men.” Acts 24:16.
⦁ Good home transfer establishment
⦁ Contemporariness fitability
THE MYSTERY BEHIND BUSINESS LEGACY
Everyone of us was made by God to do business but we never knew that we neglected the opportunity and privilege that He gave to us to start learning a business. Starting a business does not begin with books but with your parent and family. If you fail in the business of the home, you will always fail in any business you step into. “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” Luke 2:49. “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” Luke 2:52. If you are not faithful in the earthly business, who will entrust the true riches unto your hands? Are you subject to your parents?
How can you start a business? You don’t have to travel abroad before you start a business: charity begins at home. In starting a business, it isn’t necessary to start big, you can start little then progress with time. You can’t just start a business without knowing the principle guiding the business. There are laws of starting a business:
⦁ Starting with managing the little things (Luke 16:1-12).
⦁ You must know how to manage worldly wealth – mammon
⦁ You must know how to be faithful in another man’s business. In most cases, the nearest another man is your father or mother. Learn from them, serve them, be faithful to them and bring profit to them in their business. Accredited faithfulness qualifies you for your own business.
“Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country” Matthew 21:33. Every house is built through economic product or reward. God put you in that particular house and He knows His purpose for putting you there: to learn the business of the house. Every house is determined, identified, and classified according to the kind of business that it lives by; some are farming, fishing, shepherd etc. The owner of the house has the responsibility to provide and cater for the household. Every householder is in one form of business or the other; the business of your father which he sustains from. The house is what and where you will start to begin your business.
God ordained our father and mother as the same business servant. In every home, the father and mother have responsibilities: they serve business to their children.
